Valentine's Day & Baby Updates!

Happy Valentine's Day from the Wilson's!
Today is Valentine's Day, Gavin's 11 month birthday, 11 weeks preggo for me, ONE MONTH until Gavin's birthday and ONE MONTH until we found out the sex of the new baby. That's a lot of stuff for just one day, so let's dive right in...

We spent the morning sleeping in, cuddled in our beds.......hahaha, yeah right. The boys know when it's a Saturday and pick that day to wake up extra early! Oh well, it just meant we got right to business with our holiday fun! We started the morning with flowers, cards, heart-shaped pancakes & strawberries, candy and lots of fun goodies for my littlest Valentine's.

We filled up the new cups with milk and read our new book about love.

They are kind of the sweetest things ever.

Onto the next thing...Happy 11 Months, Gavin Lee!
He is quite the character, that's for sure! His hair is still as red as can be, and that temper hasn't dwindled down a single bit. ;)

He is FINALLY sleeping through the night...hallelujah! He goes to bed with a 4oz bottle of milk (we'll get to that fun part next...) and sleeps until 7:30am. It may have taken 11 months, but the fact that I finally get a full night's sleep is so fabulous.

He unfortunately has stopped nursing for the most part. I can still get him to nurse first thing in the morning and mayyyybe once throughout the day, but being pregnant has caused my supply to drastically decrease and he just isn't interested anymore. I now pump throughout the day so that I can give him a full bottle before he goes to sleep. Since he's not nursing through the day, his doctor told me I can introduce whole milk a little early to make sure he's getting plenty of liquids. Yeah, he hates milk. And fruit. So he's still on baby food to make sure he's getting healthy stuff in that fat little body of his. He is definitely making everything just a little more difficult in life, but GOSH he's cute!

He has turned into a little ham...when he wants to be, of course. He laughs a lot more now...he might even laugh more than he whines...and that's a first in his short little life!

When he wants something, he wants it now. This is his, "Give me what you have right now before I throw myself backwards & scream bloody murder" face.

Not sure of his height or weight, but he's wearing 12-18 month clothes & size 4 diapers. We have started planning his 1st birthday party for next month, along with a little gender reveal afterwards.

He has started watching cartoons a little more, which is great for us considering we have a road trip to Disney in two months! He LOVES his big brother. Loves to beat up his big brother. He loves his daddy. Loves his stuffed animal. Loves his pacis and LOVES bathtime.
He hates having his diaper changed and being told no.

Happy 11 months you crazy little ginger baby!

And of course, Christian wanted to have his picture taken, too!

This little man is the sweetest, most loving little boy I have ever met. Some of my favorite phrases:

"Mommy, you are so bootyful."
"Mommy, you are my best friend in the whole world."
"Mommy, can we snuggle? You give the best snuggles."
"Mommy, you are the sweetest girl."

Gavin might be sour most of the time, but Christian makes up for it with his sweet, sensitive soul.

And Happy 11 weeks to the newest member of the family. Baby #3 is the size of a lime and making me so sleepy & nauseous! I've gained about 2 pounds, but I feel huge. I guess they were right when they said every pregnancy you feel bigger earlier.

I had my 1st visit with Dr. B yesterday, and she said everything looks great. She's ready for another VBAC, and gave me a fistbump for how awesome we did with the last one. I love having a doctor that not only supports my decisions, but gets excited with me, as well! We had an ultrasound to check on the little bebe, and it was movin' and groovin', so the pictures are blurry. Heartbeat was 174...only one more month until we find out boy or girl! We will find out the morning of Gavin's birthday, but I'm telling you, it's another stinkin', rotten boy! Good thing I make 'em cute! ;)

Whew! That was a lot of info packed into one blog! Thanks for sticking with me!
I hope everyone enjoys their Valentine's Day! We have a group date night with our neighbors planned, and I for one am pretty excited about getting out of the house!

Until next time!
xoxo

Chubby Babies & Jack-Obsessed Toddlers

Happy Friday! I bet you're wondering what a Jack-obsessed toddler is?! Well, it's a toddler that can be found at any given moment singing "This is Halloween" from The Nightmare before Christmas. He is obsessed with the movie...and more specifically, it's main character Jack. We listen to it in the car...a minimum of 3 times per trip (shown below). We watch the movie once a day, usually after naptime...and then for the next 4 hours until bedtime, he sings, "I, JACK, the pumpkin king!" His poor little toddler heart is going to be broken when Halloween is over and mean ole' mom puts the movie back in the holiday movie vault until next year. Yep, crown me now...meanest.mom.EVER.

To feed into the madness, my sister who lives in Florida (uhhh, so jealous! 10 minutes from a beach?! What a jerk. Love you, Emmy!) sent him a Halloween care package in the mail. In this adorable and awesome care package was a singing Jack Skellington. So cute at first, although now I kind of want to hide it under a rock buried in the backyard...I mean, I love it! ;))

So what have we been doing besides watching The Nightmare before Christmas everyday? Oh ya know, just living the life...the life of pure & total craziness that is expected with 2 boys.

Gavin is still just as bad, awful, terrible cute as ever! That darn tooth still hasn't poked through, so he's still super clingy & whiny. Although today, so far, he has been an angel, so I shouldn't complain too much. Although I'm leaving the boys with their dad tonight to enjoy some girls only time...hopefully he retains his angel status for daddy. ;)

I've also decided there's not much cuter than a naked chubby baby. All that cuteness sure does make up for his bad, bad self!

The face KILLS ME. Seriously? So many captions come to mind...

"Are you seriously taking my picture right now."
"Don't you dare upload this to Facebook."
"Are you really talking to me right now."
"Do you really think I'm going to fall for that peek-a-boo crap?"
"The wheels on the bus go...no."
"If you call me fat one more time..."

Feel free to send me your captions...anytime I have a rough day, I will look at this picture and crack.up.laughing.

Btw, someone came crawling out of his room this week with a pretty pink paci...I have NO idea where he found out, but I'm guessing it belongs to a sweet little friend of ours, Scarlett.

Daddy & Gavin had some cuddles while watching Football. Dad heaven right there.

We went to a friend's house on Wednesday to help her decorate...Gavin was happy for ummmm...15 minutes? Cried the rest of the time and only wanted mommy. Hanging pictures and holding a baby? Not the easiest task.

We've started sitting Gavin in the cart instead of his carrier...but he hates it after 10 minutes. But the mustache pants & Sophie giraffe make it totally okay.

We snuggled with our next addition to the mommy & baby group...little miss Gemma. Christian is so good with pregnant bellies...he pats and loves on her any chance he gets. Nice try buddy, no pregnant belly for your mom anytime soon!

Also, waking up babies is awful business. Look at this sleepy face! I had to wake him up because it was back to school for Christian.

And then I had to wake him up again to pick big brother up...but he gave me the cutest faces ever, so all was good.

Speaking of school, Christian had an A++ first week back! His teacher said he did great...no hitting, no chokeholds...hallelujah! They got to see real fireman and a firetruck, paint pumpkins and watch a fun learning video on their new TV's (thanks for this year's school fundraiser!). And look at this little flirt...sitting at a table with all girls. Like father, like son? Oh Lord....I knew Dustin as a teenager. I was one of those girls that crushed hard on Dustin as a teenager...talk about a heartbreaker! If Christian is anything like his dad, I want to apology to any little girl (and her parents) that ends up liking him! Don't get me wrong, Dustin was a good teenager...a teenager any mom would be proud to have, but he was quite the flirt...and broke my heart on more than one occasion when I was young. Oh how the times have changed! ;)

They also played the parachute game...so jealous! That was my favorite as a kid.

Christian had some one-on-one time with his grandparents this past week. He went trick-or-treating as a shark last weekend with my dad & his girlfriend, and then this week he went with my mom as a mouse. The cutest part about this costume is that my mom made it probably 10 years ago for my little brother, and now it's being passed down!

And that's been our week...I'll leave you with a little cuteface that thought 6am was a completely acceptable time to rise & shine.

Hope everyone enjoys this beautiful weekend!

Happy October!

Hello & Happy October! What a great start to the month we have had! Christian has been so much better this week compared to the last two weeks. For a minute there, I thought I was going to have to be locked away, because I was surely about to lose my mind. That's the #toddlerlife for you though, one week they are perfect angels and the next, you're not sure they are the same child to which you once gave birth. So with that being said, we spent all last week working on his hyper tendencies, learning to keep his hands to himself and praaaaaaying that he will have a better week and attitude at preschool. On Thursday, the teacher said he was better until the last hour, when he got super hyper and hit a little girl in the face with a toy. Oh brother...seriously?! So we didn't get a special treat that day (lunch at chick-fil-a) and spent the rest of the day practicing playing with toys nicely. On Friday, his teacher said he was much better...yayyy! So obviously, we headed to get his special lunch. Since then, he has been the little boy we love SO much all weekend. Like I said, thank goodness. I was days away from the coo-coo's nest. ;)

But a rewind to our first week in one of my favorite months...cuteness overload on Tuesday morning:

The happiest napper ever.

& mastering the sitting-up skill.

On Wednesdays, we eat bananas. Gavin approves.

We throw tantrums when mom tries to cuddle with me.

We cry ourself to sleep on the way home from Target.

We give daddy lots of love when he gets home from work.

And we end our day playing outside, drawing family members (that look slightly like something else...) and cleaning our cars.

On Thursday, we take big brother to school, wait on pins & needles for the phone to ring saying I need to pick my whiny, bad kid up, and then breathe a huge sigh of relief when I never get said phone call.

I also cleaned out the boy's clothes and stored all the stuff they've grown out of...how is my baby already in 9-12 month clothes?! I also had a slightly emotional #mommoment when the thought occurred to me that this could possibly be the last time some of my favorite boy outfits get worn. Yes, we're planning on more kids, but we've already decided that if the next baby is a girl, we're closing shop on more Wilson babies. So as I'm putting away all of these clothes, I kept thinking, what if this never gets worn again?!? Insert stupid, irrational mom tears.

But I immediately cheered up when I got my next pair of baby mocs in the mail. Okay, guys, I admit it. I have a problem. A tiny baby shoe problem...but hey, it's cheaper than a grown-up shoe problem, right?!

And of course, I had to snap a (horrible, bad quality, bad lighting) photo of the boys in their Halloween/fall pajamas.

Friday, while Christian was at school, we napped & read books.

Friday night, we had a very last minute date to see the movie Gone Girl. I read the book when I was pregnant with Gavin, and loved it. I took me nearly the entire pregnancy to read it though, because the beginning (for me) was sooooo sloooow. But there was finally a huge moment when I was hooked & finished the last half of the book in no time at all. I was so excited to see how they were going to do the movie...and all I can say is: GO SEE IT. I loved it. It's the 1st and only movie that I've ever liked better than the book. And I'm not a Ben Affleck fan at all. I still kind of blame him for the fall out of Alias (only the best show ever in the entire world ever...EVER)...which is stupid & irrational, but I haven't liked him since. However, he played the character of Nick Dunne flawlessly. And the actress that played Amy? Whoa. It was just all around a great movie...even my husband, who hadn't read the books, loved it. So get a sitter, plan a date night & go see it! Totally worth the ridiculous ticket & popcorn prices.

On Saturday, Gavin wore the cutest outfit ever for our neighborhood block party. So scrumptious. The bat hat wasn't quite warm enough, so we switched to his crocheted hat from Target. The baby leggings & star sweater are both from Baby Gap, but I got the sweater at a consignment sale and it's no longer available in stores.

Yep, dying from cuteness.

Our neighborhood block party was supposed to be out in the cul-de-sac, but it was SO COLD & windy, we moved it into our garage. There were only 3 houses that couldn't make it, so we had a really great turn out! It was nice letting the kids play together & getting to know each other. We brought out the bounce house, had tons of yummy food, lit a bonfire & later brought all the kids inside for a movie. Christian has a new best friend, a little girl right across the street. Dustin & I actually went to school with her parents, so it's been fun letting them play and us catching up. We've already said that when they turn into hormonal teenagers, there will be bars put on the windows!

Sunday, we cleaned up from the party & had lunch at Tumbleweed (kids eat free on Sundays...yes, please!). And how cute is this Halloween outfit?

I wanted him to crawl across the room to get to me and this is the face he gave me. Yes, Gavin, you can have anything you'd like!

We finished our Sunday with a grocery trip...since when did going to the grocery become a 3 hour ordeal? Two carts, two meltdowns & $200 later, we got home just in time for baths & bed.

Monday morning started rough when both boys thought 6:30am was a good time to wake-up for the day. Luckily Christian went back to his room and watched cartoons all morning & Gavin passed back out in my bed. Sleeping in until 9am for the win!

The boys were so cute this morning (as if they aren't every other morning...) and all Christian wanted to do was hold baby Gavin. These two make my heart melt...most of the time. ;)

And no day is complete with an after lunch dance party.

So that's our 1st week of October. Hope everything is enjoying the beautiful fall weather! Happy Monday!
