Valentine's Day & Baby Updates!

Happy Valentine's Day from the Wilson's!
Today is Valentine's Day, Gavin's 11 month birthday, 11 weeks preggo for me, ONE MONTH until Gavin's birthday and ONE MONTH until we found out the sex of the new baby. That's a lot of stuff for just one day, so let's dive right in...

We spent the morning sleeping in, cuddled in our beds.......hahaha, yeah right. The boys know when it's a Saturday and pick that day to wake up extra early! Oh well, it just meant we got right to business with our holiday fun! We started the morning with flowers, cards, heart-shaped pancakes & strawberries, candy and lots of fun goodies for my littlest Valentine's.

We filled up the new cups with milk and read our new book about love.

They are kind of the sweetest things ever.

Onto the next thing...Happy 11 Months, Gavin Lee!
He is quite the character, that's for sure! His hair is still as red as can be, and that temper hasn't dwindled down a single bit. ;)

He is FINALLY sleeping through the night...hallelujah! He goes to bed with a 4oz bottle of milk (we'll get to that fun part next...) and sleeps until 7:30am. It may have taken 11 months, but the fact that I finally get a full night's sleep is so fabulous.

He unfortunately has stopped nursing for the most part. I can still get him to nurse first thing in the morning and mayyyybe once throughout the day, but being pregnant has caused my supply to drastically decrease and he just isn't interested anymore. I now pump throughout the day so that I can give him a full bottle before he goes to sleep. Since he's not nursing through the day, his doctor told me I can introduce whole milk a little early to make sure he's getting plenty of liquids. Yeah, he hates milk. And fruit. So he's still on baby food to make sure he's getting healthy stuff in that fat little body of his. He is definitely making everything just a little more difficult in life, but GOSH he's cute!

He has turned into a little ham...when he wants to be, of course. He laughs a lot more now...he might even laugh more than he whines...and that's a first in his short little life!

When he wants something, he wants it now. This is his, "Give me what you have right now before I throw myself backwards & scream bloody murder" face.

Not sure of his height or weight, but he's wearing 12-18 month clothes & size 4 diapers. We have started planning his 1st birthday party for next month, along with a little gender reveal afterwards.

He has started watching cartoons a little more, which is great for us considering we have a road trip to Disney in two months! He LOVES his big brother. Loves to beat up his big brother. He loves his daddy. Loves his stuffed animal. Loves his pacis and LOVES bathtime.
He hates having his diaper changed and being told no.

Happy 11 months you crazy little ginger baby!

And of course, Christian wanted to have his picture taken, too!

This little man is the sweetest, most loving little boy I have ever met. Some of my favorite phrases:

"Mommy, you are so bootyful."
"Mommy, you are my best friend in the whole world."
"Mommy, can we snuggle? You give the best snuggles."
"Mommy, you are the sweetest girl."

Gavin might be sour most of the time, but Christian makes up for it with his sweet, sensitive soul.

And Happy 11 weeks to the newest member of the family. Baby #3 is the size of a lime and making me so sleepy & nauseous! I've gained about 2 pounds, but I feel huge. I guess they were right when they said every pregnancy you feel bigger earlier.

I had my 1st visit with Dr. B yesterday, and she said everything looks great. She's ready for another VBAC, and gave me a fistbump for how awesome we did with the last one. I love having a doctor that not only supports my decisions, but gets excited with me, as well! We had an ultrasound to check on the little bebe, and it was movin' and groovin', so the pictures are blurry. Heartbeat was 174...only one more month until we find out boy or girl! We will find out the morning of Gavin's birthday, but I'm telling you, it's another stinkin', rotten boy! Good thing I make 'em cute! ;)

Whew! That was a lot of info packed into one blog! Thanks for sticking with me!
I hope everyone enjoys their Valentine's Day! We have a group date night with our neighbors planned, and I for one am pretty excited about getting out of the house!

Until next time!
xoxo

Happy 9 Months, Gavin Lee!

Well our awful, terrible, adorable youngest has turned 9 months old. With Christian, 9 months started my absolute favorite age. They are learning so much, doing new things every day, developing their unique personality....however, I would be lying if I said I was loving every minute with my fiesty 9 month old. He is a handful. And that's an understatement. Let me see if I can think of the words to describe our littlest ginger....Cranky. Fussy. Whiney. Hilarious. Hot-tempered. Loving. Stubborn. Stingy. Mommy-attached. Rotten. Freaking adorable. I love him to the moon and back, but he is definitely keeping this family on it's toes!

His milestones this month include: crawling on all 4's (although he still army crawls when he needs to get somewhere quick), pulling up on everything, climbing stairs (oh joy), throwing a tantrum by throwing himself backwards and becoming ridiculously attached to me.

I'm not sure if it's just his personality or because I'm exclusively breastfeeding him for longer than I did with Christian, but he generally will not let anyone else hold him but me. If I'm in eyesight, he's crying for me to pick him up. He tends to spend his days following me around the house crying for me to hold him or literally crawling up my leg. It's definitely a daily struggle because I have another child that needs my attention as well, and every now and then, things like laundry, dishes and bathroom breaks need to occur!

Sometimes, he doesn't cry. Sometimes. And on those days he plays with his toys, explores the house, puts anything & everything in his mouth (screams when I take it out), LOVES big brother's room, and goes crazy in his bouncer.

He hates having his picture taken. LOVES food. He will eat table food, two containers of baby food, puffs, crackers and still be asking for more...which he can sign with his hands!
He has 4 teeth, working on 5. Sleeps from 7:30pm-6am, nurses and then goes back to sleep until 8ish. I can't complain about sleep, he's finally a good sleeper! I am still breastfeeding, and although I tossed around the idea of switching to bottles for the sake of possibly breaking his attachment to me just a bit, I decided I really enjoy not buying formula and the extra 500 calories a day I'm burning. Onward we go!

He weighs in at 18 pounds even (21st %ile) and is 28.5 inches long (58th %ile). He only had to have one shot at his check-up, and cried for 5 seconds...he was showing off for the doctor today. ;) He is still in size 3 diapers and wears 12 months clothing.

I know it seems like I'm complaining a lot, but I promise there are still things I love about him! He gives the sweetest snuggles and is so funny. He loves to play peek-a-boo and chase Toby around the house. He LOVES music...turn it on and he immediately starts shaking his little butt.

Life might be crazy hectic right now, but we're powering through and trying to making the best of everyday. Soon these days of baby tears will be gone, and I'll give anything to have them little again.

Happy 9 Months, little bad ginger baby!

Motherhood...it ain't always easy!

Well, hello! Happy Saturday! I hope yours is going better than mine...we're on a little bit of a rough patch with the littlest, BUT he's currently sleeping (as I'm proof reading this...he's now bouncing and whining in the bouncer...better hurry!), so I thought I'd use this time to play catch-up!

Today I thought I would share a quick little backstory to my post. It's so funny to me, I feel like no matter what I post these days on social media, someone is going to be perturbed/annoyed/offended. I recently read an article by a blogger complaining about people who are constantly posting pictures of their happy lives. They feel as though you're rubbing your successes in others' faces. It pretty much said to stop bragging on your kiddos/hubby, stop posting pictures of your kids (because no one cares besides you) and don't try to seem too happy...because then you're pretending to be perfect.

Then I read articles/blogs by parents/people who have had a REALLY.ROUGH.HAND dealt to them. Whether it's the death of a loved one, diagnosed with a disease, given no time to live, etc. These people complain about the complainers. Oh, you're baby cried all night last night because he was teething? At least you can have a baby.

{Which for the record, I tend to side with latter of the two. I love reading about people's successes in life. I'm the type of person that's happy for people that are happy. I tend to get annoyed when someone is alwayyyyys complaining. However, I also understand, it's their social media, and if they want to complain about their stubbed toe, spilt coffee and traffic jams, that's their right!}

So I always try to think before I post...am I going to be offending people if I complain about my unruly baby that's driving me nuts? Am I going to be offending people if I post about our AWESOME day at the park? But I've always just tried to be real with my posts. When things are going great, I post about them. When things aren't going great, I post about it. When the toddler throws a tantrum in the middle of Target and I want to deny he's my child, I'll post about it. When he's a perfect angel and crawls on the couch saying, "mommy, I love to cuddle!"...yep, you'll see that, too. I'm never trying to make my life seem perfect...and I'm NEVER, EVER taking my children for granted. They are my life. Our lives are far from perfect, but we make the best out of every single day we're given on this earth. Even the days when I feel like gouging my eyes out because I'm so tired I can't see straight.

So with that being said, this past week for me was hard. I still love that little round face more than life itself, but he's giving me a tough go right now. So please don't ever think that because I complain about him on here, I don't love my life as a mother. Because I do, and I know that at any time, it can be taken away. I cherish every second, even the rotten, horrible ones. ;)

SO now that we've gotten that out of the way...

Here's a recap of our week! Last week, we had a teething, screaming baby that actually let me snuggle him.

A doctor's appointment because the boy's were running fevers...again. And it's just a virus...again.

And grumpy man got a new bibdana. Adorbs, right?

We drew and colored fall pictures.

Had a baby dance party...

And realized that life with a mobile baby just got more interesting!

Look! More cuddling! Has hell frozen over?! Are pigs flying?!

Then last weekend we went to the local Harvest Homecoming festival. Handmade goodies, rides, fair food, friends & lemon shake-ups...I'm there.

But before, we take pics!

We went home for naps after the festival, then woke up and went to the World's Largest Halloween Party at The Louisville Zoo.

Christian finally got to meet the Toy Story characters...I've never seen a kid more excited for anything in my life!

Sunday was the premiere of one of our FAVS. That's right, folks...the walkers are back! I think this season is going to be awesome. And wine.

Monday, I helped my preggo BFF's register for their babies. How cute is this you guys...these girls are some of the last in our group to become mommas, and they aren't only pregnant at the same time...they have the same due date!! One is having a girl and one is having a boy...and I couldn't be more thrilled to meet these new additions to our group!

While we were out registering, Dustin sent me cute pics of all my boys. Only Dustin can get Gavin to fall asleep on him everytime!

I also have 2 new additions to my home decor...this is actually a sticker for a pumpkin that I ordered from Jane.com...but it was too cute to waste on something I was going to throw away, so the pantry door it is!

And I got this adorable Indiana pillow from a high school friend that makes adorable handmade crafts. She should be opening an Etsy page soon!

On Tuesday, we broke out his 12 month outfits (please slow down!!!) and look at this one from Aunty Celia!! #brbdying

Someone has also started rocking back & forth on all fours...he'll be a full-time crawler before we know it!

Yesterday started out ROUGH. Gavin hasn't been sleeping, he sneezed peas ALL OVER ME, Christian was in rare form and Gavin refused to be put down. And to top it off, I had to find time to get cleaned up and ready for a wedding. Well, it took me 3 hours, but I did it! From full time mom covered in baby puke & food, to an actual woman, complete with shaved legs and freshly conditioned hair! Moms, it can be done! ;)

My hot dates at the wedding!

But then...we got home about 1:00am (we went to see Annabelle in theaters after the reception...no, thank you! Never again!), got ready for bed, laid down and "Oh, what's that? A crying baby?" Gavin cried & screamed & refused to nurse & refused to be rocked & refused to sleep for hoursssss. I think he slept from 4:30-5:30...maybe? So to say we're a bit tired today would be an understatement. He is also going through a nursing strike, which is seriously hindering my supply. So between the lack of sleep, the teething & the non-nursing, we are definitely having a tough week with this grump monster.

BUT, because I'm a glass half full kinda gal, he is happy (right now) after 2 good naps, Christian is having a blast with his papaw & granny, and Dustin & I are going to have a movie marathon complete with yummy dinner, wine & an early bedtime for baby. We are GOING to figure out this milk supply issue and things are going to get better. There, it's in my blog...it must be true, right?! ;)

Thanks for reading & have a great weekend!

Happy 6 Months, Gavin Lee!

So although Mr. Gavin actually turned 6 months old on Sunday (the 14th), his check-up wasn't until today, so I'm a little late on the posting. But anywho-happy 6 months to our littlest! I know it's cliche, but I simply CANNOT believe it's been 6 months since our little man entered the world. He is such a miracle and has been the biggest blessing to our family. Plus he's pretty cute, I might add. ;) Here is how our tiny is doing.

WEIGHT: Gavin weighed in at 16lbs, 15.5oz. He is in the 33rd %ile. I strongly believe half of that weight in his thighs & cheeks. He is shorter & fatter than big brother was at 6 months...he takes after his momma. ;)

HEIGHT: He measured 27.25 inches tall, which is the 73rd %ile.

HEAD: His big ole' noggin was 18 inches around, which is the 93rd %ile.

MILESTONES: We are allllmost sitting up. He can sit up for about 15 seconds by himself before he plops to the front or the side. He is our little roly poly and can army crawl his way around a room like a champ. He's starting to bring his knees under him; I'm thinking 7 months will be his crawling age.

TEETH: Chomper has his two bottom teeth, and is teething currently. I don't see any swollen gums, but the drooling and whining and chewing have started again at full force.

FAVORITES: His LOVES big brother. He loves when I sing to him...actually, if you ever want to get a smile out of him, just break out "Bright Lights, Big City" by Cee Lo Green and for some reason he lights up. I don't get it, but he loves it. He won't sleep without his stuffed animal, which I guess will also be called a "coo-coo" just like big brother.

SLEEP: As much as I wish I could report that he sleeps like a champ, he doesn't. He's not awful, but he's not a good as Christian was/is. He still wakes 1-2 times a night and expects to be nursed. Oh sleep deprivation, you sure are fun! He takes a short morning nap and a you-never-know-how-long afternoon nap. Sometimes it's 30 minutes, sometimes it's 2 hours.

EATING: Dude does not have a problem in this category. He eats cereal & fruit in the morning, nurses before naptime, nurses after naptime, veggies for lunch, nurses again before naptime, nurses after naptime, eats fruit for dinner and nurses before bed. Like I said, no problem in the eating department.

Gavin is such a happy little dude, unless he's teething. He is a rough teether...not that teething is easy for any baby, but good GRIEF this kid is a mess. He doesn't like being snuggled...insert sad mom face. When he's tired or not feeling good, he just wants to be left alone. There is no such thing as rocking him to sleep...unless you're daddy. Insert annoyed wife face. He loves being held. He loves his bouncer. He loves the dog and cat. He's starting to develop the funniest personality and oh, did I mention he's adorable? Happy 6 months (and 4 days) on this earth, kiddo. You're the best!

XOXO
