Slowing down a bit.

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend...ours went by way too quickly as always. This past week has been a nice, calm, relaxing week...and it was just what we needed after the holidays. We made dinner at home every night, had the boys in bed by 8pm, caught up on our favorite TV shows & even went to bed early some nights. It was perfection!

Don't get me wrong, there were days when all I wanted to do was cry because the boys were teaming up against me, refusing to nap or being down right unruly...but it's life with two boys, and I don't expect any less.

This would be my, 'why won't either of you nap or listen today' face.

Gavin has been in the best of moods lately...except for when we try to feed him fruit or tell him he can't eat the dogfood. WOW is that a battle. Apparently I need to put fruit in the dogbowl and all will be well.

Christian got his back-to-school haircut...I cannot believe he will be 4 in a few months...or that I just signed him up for kinderprep school. Next thing I know I'll be picking out colleges with him!

This is what Gavin does when you tell him he can't eat dog food. Immediately throws himself back onto the floor and screams bloody murder. You better have your foot ready to catch his little head if you tell him no...that red-headed temper means business!

And Christian's favorite new game is to stand in the hallway like this...no words, no movement...just stand there. Can someone say creepy?!

Life also gets a little more chaotic fun everyday because Gavin is into anything and everything he can get his little paws on. I keep telling him, "you touch those bills, you have to the pay them!"

The boys' Nanny got them each a bean bag chair, and let's just say they're a huge hit. Don't let this picture fool you though...Gavin is not a TV watcher like his big bro. He'll sit through 3.5 seconds of a cartoon before he's off getting into the next thing. At this age, Christian would sit through 2 entire episodes of Little Einsteins if I let him...which I won't lie, somedays I did. #momconfessions

Speaking of Christian, the poor guy has been so wore out since we cut out naptime. He falls asleep in the car, during quiet time, in the middle of dinner...but if he takes a nap, he sleeps horribly at night and won't fall asleep until 10 or 11pm. Oh, the toddler struggles!

Over the weekend, we had our friends over for dinner and donuts and new baby snuggles.

Christian finally got to meet sweet little Gemma and told me, "She's so booty-ful." I seriously love toddler language.

We finally got out of the house on Saturday for some shopping and lunch. We watched the Hoosiers win at Buffalo Wild Wings, where the boys were such angels! There were no meltdowns, no crying...they both ate endlessly and gave us hope again that going out to eat might not be completely out of the question!

Speaking of eating endlessly...don't even think about eating around Gavin...he will steal anything you have!

And today, well today was bittersweet. We had lunch with and then had to say goodbye 'see ya later' to our dear friend as he travels back to where he's stationed. We so enjoyed these past few weeks with him, and our hearts are broken to see him go again. Any prayers/good energy/whatever you believe in would be appreciated for safe travels for him, and strength for his wife and brand new baby who will stay behind here in the states.

But if anything can cheer you up, it's a picture of a sweet sleeping baby!

And that has been our week!
This week is another pretty laid back one, although a major trip to the grocery is needed and we have a few appointments...other than that, it's a lot of trying to keep busy and not-so-patiently waiting for warmer weather!

Until next time, thanks for reading!
