The night before he started, his teacher gave him "magic confetti" to put under his pillow. It was to help him sleep great and wake up refreshed & ready for school! Christian loved this. School hadn't even started yet, and I already loved his teacher!
After a good night sleep for everyone, a super early (at least for me...this was sleeping in for Dustin) morning & getting everyone dressed & ready, we were off to school! But first...pictures!
As we walked into the school & towards his classroom, he was literally tugging at our hands to go faster. Other kids were clinging to their parents for dear life. Some were crying. One was screaming. Christian looked at us and said, "See ya!" We had to force a hug out of him.
Making new friends on the first day!
We left. I cried. Dustin laughed & took a picture of me losing my little mommy mind.
I then
Needless to say he had a blast the first and second day. He only goes twice a week for three hours, but he is obsessed. Here is some of his beautiful artwork from the first week.
And as if that wasn't enough emotions for one day, my other tiny baby turned 5 months old on the same day! I swear, it went by so fast with Christian, but it goes by EVEN FASTER when you have two. I feel like we just came home from the hospital a couple weeks ago.
But Gavin dude, you are growing SO FAST. Little man is seriously the sweetest. Always smiling, always laughing...it's not even right. Don't get me wrong, we've had one or two days of teething, but compared to most babies? He's a breeze! That means we're going to get payback when he's a toddler, right?!
Dude loves to roll all over the room. He loves toys. He thinks it's hilarious when mom sings to him. A couple weeks ago, I felt a tooth. I was so excited. I called Dustin. I posted a picture. I wrote it in his baby book. And then...the tooth was gone. No tooth. What the heck? It's the case of the vanishing tooth...the tooth that cried wolf. So no teeth yet.
Gavin isn't sleeping through the night yet, he still wakes up about 3-3:30 to nurse. But he does take 2 naps a day and goes right to sleep, which is fabulous! I have the boys nap schedules the same, so about 1pm, I get a whole 2 HOURS OF QUIET. It's amazing. We started cereal at 4 months, which he loves. And we gave him his first baby food at 5 months...veggies...more specifically...green beans. Yeah, not a fan! He's still nursing & I plan to keep at it until he's a year old.
So there we have it...my sweet 5 month old & my full-of-life pre-schooler. I'll say it again...WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?! Until next time!
