Dustin recently was out of town for work for 5 days, and then took the rest of the week off. Yay! While he was gone, I had lots of little projects to keep us busy. The first of these projects was to tackle painting the kitchen. Since we moved in (almost 2 years ago!) it was this awful green color. Totally not my style! He left Saturday morning and I immediately loaded up the boys & headed to pick up paint! I found a color I LOVED on good ole' Pinterest, so we headed to Sherman Williams to grab a gallon. My mom came over, I laid the boys down for a nap, and let the painting frenzy begin! Here are the before and afters!
The lighting isn't great, but the color is Copen Blue from Sherwin William's.
Disclaimer: Before we bought the house, the hubby agreed to give me white cabinets. Whether we paint them or replace them is up to him, but I will, in the next few years, have beautiful, fresh, white sparkling cabinets...and this blue will look SO much better after that!
I also rearranged and re-organized Christian's bedroom. Another disclaimer...if you know anything about me, it's that I am a huge decorating, redecorating, organizing, re-organizing, rinse & repeat kinda gal. This is what makes me happy...feeling blue? Decorate a room and I'm a happy gal again. Here is the final product of what Christian calls his "NEW ROOM!"...yes, with that exact amount of excitement! #lifeofathreeyearold
Other shenanigans & happenings while Dustin was gone:
Our friend Camp's 1st birthday party. My brother's 7-year-passing-away anniversary. Lots of crying & looking through old photos. Family time. Polly's Ice cream trip. More organizing. Counting down to Dad coming home.
Daddy got home just in time for Christian's 1st day of pre-school, which I'll write about later. Gavin turned 5 months old (what? Didn't I just have him like a week ago?). We then spent some time with our Hammond friends at the KY State Fair. Christian has turned into quite the brave little thing...very much unlike his mother and VERY much like his father...and wanted to ride ALL.THE.RIDES. We narrowed it down to just a few (for money & times sake!). Of course, a trip to the fair wouldn't be complete without a funnel cake & lemon shake-up. YUM-OH.
Check out that epic #photobomb!
Friday, we went to a going away dinner for my cousin who is off to college this weekend...which of course, caused much reminiscing about our college days in Bloomington. Ah, where does time go?
Today we took part in a photo-shoot fundraiser for a family dealing with cancer. Money to a family in need AND pictures of my adorable boys? I'm in. And then we spent the afternoon with my family at the park. My sister is in town from Florida & we loved spending time with her this week!
Tomorrow is Sunday...end of vacation with the hubby. Back to reality on Monday. So what's on the agenda for tomorrow? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Pure laziness! Or at least, as lazy as the boys will let us. ;) So that's it...our mini vacay. Thanks for reading & hope everyone has had a great weekend!
