The Awful, Terrible Pumpkin Patch Day.

One of my favorite things about Fall & Halloween is picking pumpkins & carving them (and candy... ALL the candy). It's been a love of mine since I was a kid, so I'm hoping to bring that love to my kiddos as well. I have great memories of my little brother, mom & me sitting on our kitchen floor, covered in pumpkin seeds and creating our own little masterpieces. I hope one day my boys will look back on their childhood and have fun memories of their own. We didn't have a lot of money growing up, but my mom worked her single-mom butt off & still managed to make every holiday special for us. I'm so thankful for those memories that I have, especially since my brother isn't with us anymore, and it makes me truly appreciate each holiday. So thanks mom! :)

With that being said, Gavin's 1st pumpkin picking experience was just plain awful. He was so grumpy all day...thank you, teeth...but I figured he would cheer up & quit fussing if we were outside walking around. Wrong. So wrong. He was either fussing or crying or giving us the death stare the entire time. We still managed to have a fun time, despite the grump face that was with us.

The even funnier part of the whole ordeal, we didn't get a single pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. There were no good pumpkins to choose from, and the ones that looked good were the size of Christian and would have cost us an arm & a leg.

So here are the pictures from our no-pumpkin-picking pumpkin picking day. ;)

I hope you're getting a good chuckle out of the complete and utter disgust Gavin has in every.single.picture. I mean, you can't help but laugh!

We did grab some pumpkins to carve from Dustin's family who grows & sells them. We carved them last night...well, I carved them while Christian helped clean them out & Gavin rolled around grabbing pumpkin guts...and now we have a little pumpkin family on our sidewalk.

Have I mentioned how much I love this season?! Teething babies & all.

Happy Friday!
I hope yours is as good as mine, but the husband is bringing home chicken-n-dumplins from our local town fair, so I doubt it! ;)

Thanks for reading!
